In 1970, Superintendent Jack Baldwin the pastor of Baldwin Chapel Church of God in Christ at 4430 Crozier Street in Dallas, Texas, came to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and founded the Faith Paradise Church of God in Christ. Faith Paradise was located on 30th Street and (Eastern) Martin Luther King Boulevard.

 

Superintendent Baldwin pastored the church for twenty three years. In 1993, God led Superintendent Baldwin to place Faith Paradise Church of God in Christ under the care of his son in the gospel, Elder William H. Simms.

 

Elder William H. Simms, who had served as pastor’s assistance under Elder Jessie James (JJ) Daniel in Temple, Oklahoma for 10 years and in January of 1982 had established the Holy Unity Church of God in Christ at 812 North Bath Street in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, obeyed the will of God.  He combined the two churches together and they worshipped together on the corner of Northeast 23rd and Martin Luther King, in Faith Paradise Church of God in Christ.

 

United together as one, the church purchased the former Mount Elam Baptist Church at 3000 Northeast 23rd Street, in February of 1994.  A decision was made to change the name of the church using a part of the name from each church.  United came from Holy Unity and Faith came from Faith Paradise giving the combined churches the name of “United Faith Outreach Church of God in Christ” (UFO). Later in years when the church became incorporated it came to be United Faith Outreach Ministries Church of God in Christ.

 

For eighteen years Elder William H. Simms led the congregation higher in the Lord.  Elder Simms and his wife, Missionary Erma Simms labored faithfully to build up the church with much time and energy.  Being a contractor, Elder Simms worked many hours renovating the church until his health begin to fail. In June of 2011, the Lord called our pastor and leader home from labor into reward.

 

In June 2011, at the age of thirty-seven, Elder William H. Simms II became the second pastor of United Faith Outreach Ministries Church of God in Christ.

 

Pastor Simms was genuinely saved in 2004, after serving faithfully for two years under the leadership of his father and Pastor Elder William H. Simms, he was elevated to the position of deacon. During this time, he was appointed to serve in the capacity as District Sunday School Superintendent of the Enid District.

After serving as a deacon for two years, he received his calling into the ministry. He served as a minister for one year and was ordained as an Elder in the Church of God In Christ. He served as assistant pastor of United Faith Outreach Church of God in Christ.

 

Pastor Simms II is married to Shartory D. Simms and the father of two children: Keaira and Jamar Simms. He has one grandchild, Ayden Simms. He is a graduate of Millwood High School and a Veteran of the U.S. Marines. He has been recognized for his notable achievements in dedication, faithfulness and leadership. His endeavor is to lead the flock of God with integrity through the power of the Word of God.

 

United Faith Outreach has continued to grow and flourish under the great leadership and teaching of Elder Simms II. Souls are added to the flock, life’s rededicated, and mental and spiritual healings are being done under the direction of Elder Simms II by the movement of The Holy Ghost.
